What we do is a team sport!

Acquiring U.S. real estate by Canadians requires a variety of skill sets from great ‘eyes’ at the pre-analysis stage to legal, accounting and acquisition skills.  Bottom line is you can’t do everything well yourself and you can’t do it alone.

A good portion of your success is likely to be dependant on the people you partner with and how you choose them.

Here’s the secret. Figure out the things you do well and enjoy doing but also identify the things you don’t do well.  Then find people  that do the things well that you don’t and partner with them.  For example, if you love the  chase (finding the absolute right properties) but aren’t as good at negotiating with banks or listing agents, find partners that are awesome negotiators.  And don’t settle for second best.

During our Three Day Quest training seminars with our new students we spend a good deal of time putting together their power teams, identifying and pinpointing exactly the right people to complement their skills so that things get accomplished by partners that love what they’re doing.

It’s incredibly productive and it’s fun.  Working with a team to achieve a common goal is a true joy.

My team is made up of absolutely amazing people.  Twenty-two outstanding partners that do everything from keep the office running to providing ongoing service, training and support.   And then there are the over 500 students who have honoured us with their trust!  It took a while to put this team together.  But what a joy to wake up every morning knowing that I work with people that I trust and who are running beside me towards a common goal.
