Time management is crucial for your business success. Use these three rules to manage your time and your projects for optimal success.

Time management is important, particularly for creative entrepreneurs who tend get excited about new ideas.

As you build and grow your business, you’ll find that new opportunities are constantly vying for your attention and focus. Be sure to focus on the tasks that only you can do, that contribute the most value, and leverage your team to optimize your productivity.

Here are 3 ways to manage your time and get more done:

Rule #1: Write it Down

If you’re like most entrepreneurs, the thought of the future and planning can become so exhilarating that you can get lost in the details of a plan to be executed 5 years from today.

When you are starting up your new business and getting established, it’s important to harness your enthusiasm for future planning and write it down.

The act of writing it down ensures that you are able to put it aside and focus on your daily tasks and that you are ready with a plan of action to take the next step at the right time. In the meantime, make sure you have at least 4 different lists on the go (or more) to contain your ADD and get the most of your inspirational planning sessions at the same time (I personally love Trello for my lists).

Rule #2: Know Your Value

Time is Money

The biggest mistake is getting lost in all the wrong details that don’t actually help you or your fellow partners.

Remember to focus on the details that matter the most with a clearly defined role and razor-sharp focus. With all the social media platforms, latest tech innovations and continuous stream of electronic communication, you’ve probably been brainwashed into thinking you have to be “plugged in” all the time. You don’t.

Respect your time and your responsibilities with a clearly defined role and deadlines to meet. Your value is best communicated to yourself and your business when you achieve real results.

Rule #3: Delegate

It’s so important to delegate tasks as you can to the right people with a clear process and result in mind.

Let your business grow by delegating tasks and protect your organization with defined processes and measurements. This way, you are giving yourself the gift of time and your team parameters to work within minus the micro management aspect.

Major takeaway?

As we enter into Q4, it’s important to get your game face on and gear up for the holidays.

Nowadays, there are so many various forms of communication and cloud applications to use that it can actually become more time consuming.

Start by streamlining sharing applications with your team, write down your plans and goals and delegate those tasks you can to ensure you make the most of your year end without any of the hassle.
